Abstract
This pre-master's thesis emphasizes on microscopic modeling of urban and highway motorized traffic for simulation. Such models are in use in road traffic simulation systems in practical- as well as research applications, where they are currently deployed to develop and evaluate vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) based route assignment systems. An abstract interface for car following models will be designed and implemented in the SUMO simulation suite. Furthermore the Intelligent Driver Model will be added through that layer. In the evaluation phase several test cases will be designed and deployed to prove the validity of both implementations.
