BASt report on Research Needs in Teleoperation published
The Federal Highway and Transport Research Institute (BASt) working group “Research Needs in Teleoperation”, of which we were proud to be a part of, has now published the results of its work, which spanned approximately one and a half years. We identified and formulated a total of 174 open research questions, from short-term to long-term research, in the following focus areas:
- societal aspects,
- human factors,
- vehicles and roads, and
- communication technologies.
For each, we considered three types of teleoperation:
- remote assistance only,
- event-based remote driving, and
- continuous remote driving.
The report is openly available in PDF form in both German and English.
